HABITAT: Sub-Himalayan tracts, West Bengal, Central and South India
BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: It is a large deciduous tree whose leaves are broadly ovate, caudate, more or less pendulous leaves. Fruits are sessile in axillary pairs, depressed, globose, black or purple when ripe.

- Impotency: Milky latex from bark is to be used in a dose of 5 to 6 drops
- Joint pain: Bark or root decoction is to be used in a dose of 50 to 60 ml
- Skin disorders: Leaves paste to be applied externally
- Wounds: Latex is to be applied externally
