HABITAT: Found wild in all parts of India, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and south India. Cultivated in Gujarat.
BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: Root stock-large, sessile tuber thick, cylindrical or ellipsoid, Pale yellow inside. Leaves long petioled, oblong, lanceolate, and narrow at the base. Flower bracts pale green, Corolla whitish yellow. Fruits globose capsule.
