HABITAT: A bushy plant stem grows upto 1 meter tall.
BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: Leaves imparipinnate with 3- 8 pairs of leaflets leaves glandular , pubescent, pod rhomboid ellipsoid glandular, seeds yellow, brown , black, green in color.

THERAPEUTIC USES:
- Skin problems – The powder of black gram is given to treat skin problems
- Fever bleeding disorders – Chana soaked water is exposed to cool moon rays to relieve pitta disorders.
- Headache and fever – The juice prepared from chana is used to treat fever and headache
- Dysmenorrhea-Cold infusion of chana is given in a dose of 40-50 ml.
