Description

NAME OF MEDICINE :- KHADIRADI VATI

CLASSICAL REFERENCE :- Rastantarasara-Mukharogadhikara.

FORMULATION COMPOSITION :-

Each tablet of 250 mg. contains

Katha (Acacia catechu), 131.57mg., Karpur (Camphor)-26.31 mg., Supari (Areca catechu)-26.31 mg., Jaiphala (Myristica fragrans)-13.15 mg., Sheetal chini (Piper cubeba)-26.31 mg., Sukshmaila (Elettaria cardamum)-26.31 mg.

Bhavanarth dravya—Freshly prepared decoction of Mulethi (Glycyrrhiza glabra) Q.S.—for mardana.

DOSE :-

1 to 2 tablets or as directed by the physician.

THERAPEUTIC USE :–

Useful in stomatitis, ulcerative stomatitis, dryness of mouth, glossitis, pharangitis & hoarseness of voice. Can be consumed orally or can be used for chewable purpose in all the above mentioned diseases.

ANUPAN :-

To be taken twice or thrice in a day or can be chewed or as directed by the physician.

METHOD OF PREPARATION

1. Calculate the quantity of the drugs mentioned under KHADIRADI VATI in AFI-I (12:7) and as per master formulary record of the pharmacy for the required batch and quantity.
2. Accurately weigh the tested drugs from the raw material store,clean them and then pass through 20 and 30 mesh to discard foreign materials.Again weigh the drugs and adjust their weight loss according to master formula.
3. Clean the Pulveriser as per SCP (Standard Cleaning Procedure).
4. Coarsely powder the drugs of the above mentioned Yog.
5. Kwath of khadira and arimeda were prepared as per kasaya nirman vidhi.
6. The kwath is then filtered through the muslin cloth and coarsely powdered drugs are then added in the kwath.
7. The whole of the above mixture is then shifted into the mixture machine which is already cleaned as per SCP (Standard Cleansing Procedure) and pounded well to attain a uniform mixture of the above ingredients.
8. The uniform mixture is then taken out of the mixture machine and varties were prepared for hand made pills.
9. Take a sample for testing and after testing the batch, the tablets are released for packing.
10 . Seal and label the tablets in well cleaned plastic bottles as per GMP mentioned in D & C Act 1940 and the rules made there under.
