HABITAT: This tree is native to Southeast Asia and grows in China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Eastern India, Thailand and Malaysia.

BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION:

A large evergreen tree, distributed in North East part of the country. Drug available in cut pieces, dark brown to nearly black; fracture, hard; no characteristic smell and taste. Fruiting and flowering time June to September.
