HABITAT: A evergreen large shrub or small to medium sized tree growing to 15m tall; flowers large; fruits round edible

BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: Leaves 15-36 cm corrugated surface with impressed veins; flowers large; fruits round edible, greenish white, 15 carpels each containing 5 seeds embedded in it.

  • Indigestion and lack of appetite – The fresh juice of fruit of bhavya is taken.
  • Pigmentation and scabies – The paste of bark of dillenia indica is applied over the affected area of skin with pigmentation and scabies
  • Hair tonic -Cold infusion and fresh juice of bhavya fruits is a good hair tonic.
