HABITAT: Throughout the tropical zones of India in the hilly regions, found in hilly regions throughout Deccan, peninsula, extending to Gujarat, M.P, Bihar and Orissa.

BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: A moderate sized deciduous tree, 30 m high and a girth of 2.5m, Bark-grey, longitudinally fissured and scaly, Leaves are imparipinnate, Leaflets-usually 5-7 oblong. Flowers are in long panicles, yellowish, fragrant. Fruits-pods, orbicular flat, winged upto 5 cm in diameter Seeds 1-2, Convex and bony. Flowering and Fruiting Season is Autumn-Winter season
