HABITAT: It is cultivated throughout India.

BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION:

It is a small annual herb having height 1-3ft with glabrous stem and slender branches. Leaves are variable, variously lobed or pinnatisect. Flowers are small, white, borne in long racemes. Fruit pod is small, orbicular, ovate.

THERAPEUTIC USES:

  • Gout: Local application of paste prepared from the mixture of Cumin seeds and Candrasura seeds.
  • Hiccups and gastritis: Intake of hot infusion of its seeds.
  • For increasing lactation: Medicated milk of candrasura seeds should be taken during night to improve lactation

INDICATIONS:

Hikka Hiccups, Kaphaj atisara Diarrhoea or Dysentery, Vatarakta Gout, Vatarogas Vataj disorders like neuralgia, paralysis, Krimi roga Worm infestation, Artava vikara irregular menstrual disorders and amenorrhoea
