HABITAT: Champak is found in eastern Himalayas, North-East India and Western Ghats; it is planted throughout India in gardens and near temples.
BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION:
It is a tall, ever green tree, usually upto 30 m in height and 3.5 m in girth with a straight trunk. Bark is grey or brownish. Leaves are ovate, lanceolate in shape. Flowers are usually axillary, solitary yellow or orange. Fruit is 5-10 cm. long; woody. Seeds are brown, angular with pink fleshy aril.

- Updamsha: Its bark is used in the second stage of syphilis.
- Vrana shotha: Apply the paste made from the mixture of its bark and curd locally
- Udarashoola: Juice of its leaves should be used orally with honey
