HABITAT: cultivated all over India

BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION:

It is small, glabrous, annual herb. Leaves are compound with lower ones are broad having crenately lobed margins, the upper ones are narrower with linear lobes. Flowers are white or purplish in compound umbels. Fruits are subglobose, yellowish.

  • Thirst: Cold infusion of Dhanyaka is used with honey and sugar.
  • Diarrhoea: Ghee processed with 4 times water and Dhanyaka paste should be used.
  • Vatarakta: Dhanyaka and Jeera cooked with jaggery is used.
  • Indigestion: Decoction of Dhanyaka and Shunthi is used in case of indigestion
