HABITAT: A spiny evergreen tree distributed in the drier part of the peninsular India, western punjab to west bengal and Sikkim.

BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: Evergreen tree upto 9m in height. Bark is grey. Leaves are 2 foliate, leaflets, elliptic or obovate. Flowers are small, greenish white, fragrant, axillary, few or many flowered fascicles. Fruits are drupe.

rechana purgative, kukkur kasa whooping cough and twak roga skin disorders.

USEFUL PART: Stem bark, Fruit, Seed oil

DOSAGE: Pulp- 100-500mg as expectorant.1-3 g as purgative
