माषो गुरुः स्वादुपाकः स्निग्धो रुच्योऽनिलापहः ।

स्स्रंसनस्तर्पणो बल्यः शुक्रलो बृंहण परः ॥४१॥

भिन्नमूत्रमलः स्तन्यो मेदः पित्तकफप्रदः ।

HABITAT: All over india

BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: Legume that Grows up to the height of 30 to 100 cm, pods are narrow and cylindrical of 4 to 6 cm in length, leaves are hairy, trifoliate 4 to 10 cm long and 2 to 7 cm wide, flowers are yellow in color.

MAJOR CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS: Albuminoid

THERAPEUTIC USES:

• Vata disorders-the decoction prepared from Black gram is beneficial.
• Lack of sleep- Powder of Roots of Masha is used.
• Skin detox– Flour of mungo beans is used.
• To stop bleeding – Orifice of wound should be smeared with powder of Priyangu, Licorice, Black gram.
