BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION:

Plaksha is a medium to large tree found in temprate climate of India. The Bark of tree is pale brown coloured. Leaves are 4-5 inched, renal to oval shaped with 06 -10 viens in them.

Fruit a syconus, 0.5 to 1.0 cm in dia., attached with pedicel; sub-globose,

wrinkled, glabrous, having three basal bracts; greyish-brown to yellowish-brown; taste,

astringent. Fruiting & Flowering is seen in April- June month.

  • The fine powder of dried bark of Plasha is sprinkled over Wounds & Bleeding Spots as a part of treatment.
  • Decoction of bark is used for Gargaling and Mouth Rinsing in case of Stomatitis & Gingivitis.
  • Decoction of Bark is given in dose of 50-70ml in case of Diarrhea, Leucorrhea & Diabetes.
  • Paste prepared from bark of plaksha is applied locally in case of Herpes & Wounds.
  • Cold Infusion from Bark is prepared to treat Nausea, Vertigo & Epileptic Seizures.

INDICATIONS:

Shoth Edema, Bhrama Uncounciousness, Daha Burning Sensation, Murccha Fainting, pralapa, Raktapitta Bleeding Disorders.
