HABITAT: shrub

BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION:

Many varieties have emerged out of hybridization. The shrub is 25 cm. to 3 mt. in height, branches bear thorns. The leaves have serrated margins. The flowers have many shades of colors. Fruit is oval and becomes red on ripening.

THERAPEUTIC USES:

  • Wounds: Paste of rose petals or the powder of dried petals is applied over wounds for quicker healing.
  • Burning sensation of eyes: Extract of rose petals is used as drops or eye wash.
  • Constipation: Decoction prepared from rose buds in a dosage of 20-30 ml in divided uses to treat constipation.
  • Sore throat: Gargle made from petal infusion of rose is used.

INDICATIONS: Vibanda constipation, Raktapitta Bleeding disorders, Daha Burning sensation, Hridaroga Heart diseases.

Leaf juice 10-15 ml

Powder- 3-6 gm
