Sanskrit name: Bida lavana, Kritrimala, Dravida, Supakya

INTRODUCTION:

Vida lavana is one of the salts mentioned in the texts of Ayurveda, chemically known as Ammonium chloride.

It is considered as an artificial salt (Kritrima lavana) by certain Rasashastra texts of Ayurveda.

THERAPEUTIC USES:

  • Vistambhasula- helps to treat colic pain caused by the impairement of the peristaltic movement of the colon.

INDICATIONS:

Rochana improves taste, Dipana improves digestion strength.
