HABITAT: It can be found all over India, from the western Himalayas to Sikkim, at elevations of up to 4000 feet in Kumaon and in tropical and subtropical areas. Nepal and Pakistan are also home to this species.
BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION: It is a large climber with tuberous roots and stem shrubby. The leaves are 3-foliate, ovate-oblong, cordate shaped. The leaflets are glabrescent above, silky beneath. Flowers are bisexual and blue or purplish-blue in color. The fruit pods are linear, constricted densely between the seeds. They have silky, bristly reddish- brown hair. Seeds vary from 3 to 6 in number. The tubers are globose or pot- like, the insides are white, starchy and mildly sweet.

- Male impotency – Its powder is given in the dose of 3 to 5gm with ghee to increase the sperm count
