METHOD OF PREPARATION

1. Calculated the quantity of the drugs mentioned under LAUH BHASMA(50 Puti) in AFI-I (18:14) and original formula mentioned in the master formulary for the required batch and quantity.
2. Accurately weighed and tested the drugs from the raw material store and cleaned them.
3. Lauh churna was heated in an iron vessel. When it becomes redhot, it was subjected to nirvapana i.e. immersed in specified liquid one by one atleast for 4 times.
4. Lauh churna was triturated with specified drug mentioned in the yog and chakrikas are prepared, dried under sunlight. These chakrikas are subjected to gajaputa with different drugs for 7 times each. Till 7th puta add hingula and triturate for specified duration. Thus on 21st puta we get lauha bhasma as mentioned in the text
5. Withdrew the sample for testing and after testing the batch, the bhasma was released for packing.
6. Sealed and labeled the bhasma in well cleaned plastic bottles which was already cleaned as per their SCP (Standard Cleansing Procedure).
