NAME OF MEDICINE :-Darhimashtak Churna

CLASSICAL REFRENCE :- Sharangadharasamhita-agnimandyarogadhikara.

FORMULATION COMPOSITION :-

Each 5 gms. contains:

Anardana (Punica granatum)-14.28%, Dalchini (Cinamum zeylanicum)-2.37%, Khand(Sugar)-57.15%, Sukshm Ela (Elatteria cardamum)-2.37%, Tej patra (Cinamum inners)-2.37%,  Saunth (Zingiber officinalis)-7.14%, Pippali (Piper longum)-7.14%, Marich (Piper nigrum)-7.14%

DOSE :-

3gm. to 5 gm. or as directed by the physician.

THERAPEUTIC USE :

Carminative & digestive and thus useful in anorexia dyspepsia, chronic diarrhoea and dysentery, sprue, cough & cold and all other abdominal diseases due to Pitta dosha.

ANUPAN  :-

To be taken with lukewarm water twice in a day or as directed by the physician.

METHOD OF PREPARATION

1. Calculate the quantity of the drugs mentioned under the DHARIMASHTAK CHURNA in AFI-II (7:7) and as per master formulary record of the pharmacy for the required batch & quantity.
2. Accurately weigh the tested drugs from the raw material store and clean them properly to exclude physical impurities/foreign materials. Again weigh the drugs and adjust their weight loss according to the master formula.
3. Clean the pulveriser as per SCP (Standard Cleansing Procedure).
4. Coarsely powder the drugs mentioned in the Yog and sieve them from the Sieve No.100.
5. Sugar mentioned in the Yog is separately powdered well in the pulveriser and sieved properly. It is then mixed in the above mentioned coarsely powdered drugs.
6. Take a sample for testing and after testing the batch, the churna is sealed and labeled in well cleaned plastic bottles as per GMP mentioned in D & C Act 1940 and the rules made there under.
